Let me get this right. So being a helper to a man means being his personal servant?

Eve was created to be a helper in Gen 2:18: Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him. AMP

The word “helper” in Gen 2:18 is the two Hebrew words ‘ezer kenegdo.

The first word “ ‘ezer” means “helper” and has no connotation in the Old Testament of inferiority or subordination. God is repeatedly called our Helper using this exact word in Psalm 10:14; 30:10; 54:4; 70:5; 72:12; 121:2. God is not subordinate in any way to anyone or anything. The word speaks of power and strength.

“Kenegdo” means “matching” or “face to face,” and so expresses the intention that Eve was a fit partner to Adam. They were created equal. She was like him. She was given equal authority and dominion over the earth.

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth. AMP

Subservience of women came in with domination. Domination is carnal man at work. Domination, intimidation and manipulation are all the works of the evil one. None of these are found in the nature of God. Love never dominates.
