PostSubject: Jesus Christ made it reasonable that there is a God.   Jesus Christ made it reasonable that there is a God. Icon_minitimeSat Feb 27, 2010 12:08 pm

Is it only a matter of faith to believe God exists or that God does not exist? Faith (belief) is required for both positions. Beyond faith is there an intellectual – a reasonable – answer to the existence of God?

It cannot be proven that God does not exist. It is a belief.

For those who have met Him the proof is overwhelming that He does exist. Again we see faith – belief in action.

The conundrum comes in when trying to prove His existence on a dimension where He cannot be seen (in terms of that dimension alone) unless you can see into His dimension - which then enables you to see Him in both dimensions; simply because you learn to operate in both dimensions. But you need to be able to prove the existence of that dimension then, and so it does not answer as fully reasonable – of the reason alone.

So we get back to the intellectual question: Is the belief in the existence of God reasonable?

We need to make the case for the existence of God by what we see and know in the physical realm.

Did Jesus Christ really exist? History records that He did.

Did Jesus Christ claim to be the Son of God? History records that He did. That is the reason He was crusified. He was killed for the perceived crime of blasphemy.

Did Jesus Christ behave like the Son of God? Yes He did. He rose from the dead on the third day – just as He said He would. Research His life and you will see that no man like Him ever lived before or since. No man changed history as He did. He was born a simple Carpenter and lived in an obscure rural village. He walked or rode a donkey and communicated His message by word of mouth. His message impacted mankind then and through the ages. He said He had come to die for the sins of mankind and He did so. It was a cruel death that He knew was coming, and still He went to it willingly. His sacrifice was the qunitessential of love. He even died for those who hated Him. In life and in death He practised what He preached.

God made Himself physical in the form of Jesus Christ to be a witness of His existence; and not just that He exists but that His existence is benevolent.

It is reasonable to believe in a Man Who said and did all that Jesus Christ said and did. When He says He is God it is reasonable to accept that He is. Honestly refute the claims of Christ and you will have refuted the existence of God, for He represented Himself here on earth in Christ. It has not ever been honestly done.

Everywhere you see man's need to worship. Once the idea of God is conceived it is no longer reasonable to unconceive Him - you can only deny Him. Mankind will worship Him or something else - maybe even self - but something. That old saying that there is a God-sized vacuum in the heart of mankind is a reasonable answer to what I see today all around. God or idols will be used to fill that vacuum. Only God can fill it. With my reason I see this confirmed again and again. With my understanding I know it to be true in my life.

Jesus - Yeshua - is an historical figure. He was believed to be the Son of God when He walked the earth. He did what no one else had ever done before in terms of teaching with such authority, and miracles and healings following His Word.
